DETAILS:
On 12-1-12, at approximately 1504 hours, Oxnard patrol officers located wanted subject Miguel Silva, at the intersection of Ventura Road and 9th Street. Silva was arrested for 245 PC-Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Silva had stabbed Roberto Alejo last date in the 900 Block of South Ventura Road.

On November 26, 2012, at about 10:53 p.m., Oxnard PD officers responded to the area of Channel Islands Boulevardand Peninsula Roadafter receiving a call of an injury collision involving two vehicles at the intersection of Channel Islands Boulevard and Peninsula Road. Upon arrival to the scene, officers and EMS personnel found that a pewter Honda Accord and a gray Honda Civic collided in the intersection.
 
Preliminary investigation indicates that the Accord, driven by Sydney Irene Bolton, was traveling westbound on Channel Islands Boulevard towards a red light at Peninsula Road. The Civic was traveling southbound on Peninsula Road at Channel Islands Boulevard. For unknown reasons, the Accord drove into the intersection against a red light and broadsided the Civic. Ms. Torres and her passenger were transported by Gold Coast Ambulance to Ventura County Medical Center with minor injuries. Ms. Torres and her passenger are listed in stable condition.
 
Driver Bolton was not injured as a result of the collision and was arrested for suspicion of driving while under the influence.

DETAILS:

On 11/30/12, at approximately 1942 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to St. John's Regional Medical Center re: a stabbing victim. The victim informed officers that the incident had occurred earlier at a parking lot in the 1900 block of North Ventura Road. Officers learned the victim had been approached by the suspect and was subsequently stabbed twice. The suspect fled the scene on foot.

The suspect is described as a male, early 20's, 5-8, thin build. The suspect is outstanding. Baez remained hospitalized and is listed in stable condition.

DETAILS:
On November 21, 2012 at approximately 0650 hours, officers were dispatched to the Dollar Smart Money Center located at 1460 Doris Avenue regarding a robbery.  During the investigation, it was determined that two male suspects gained entry into the business and confronted the employee.  The suspects assaulted the employee and demanded money.   The suspects obtained merchandise from the business then fled the business.   

The employee sustained a minor contusion to his face which did not require medical attention.

DETAILS:
On November 19, 2012, at about 8:02 p.m., Oxnard PD officers responded to the area of Ventura Boulevard and Del Norte Boulevardafter receiving a call of a single vehicle collision where the vehicle had overturned. Once on scene, officers and EMS personnel found that a gray Lexus ES330 had run off the road of Ventura Boulevard, just west of Del Norte Boulevard.   
 
Preliminary investigation indicates that the Lexus, driven by Adam Niel Side, was traveling eastbound on Ventura Boulevard towards Del Norte Boulevard. For unknown reasons, the Lexus drove off the roadway and onto a dirt shoulder at a high rate of speed. The Lexus struck several areas of uneven dirt while on an incline. The vehicle became launched off the dirt, causing it to land on its roof. Mr. Side was transported by Gold Coast Ambulance to Ventura County Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.
 
Driver Side was arrested for suspicion of driving while under the influence.

DETAILS:

On September 6, 2012, Oxnard Police Department detectives and members of the Ventura County Cold Case Task Force arrested Thomas Young, age 65, of Fairfield, Alabama, for the murder of Stacy Knappenberger. Stacy Knappenberger was 15 years old when she was murdered on July 30, 1980, in her Oxnard home.  An autopsy at that time determined that Knappenberger had died from blunt force trauma and multiple stab wounds.  It is also suspected that a sexual assault occurred. 
 
After his arrest in Alabama, Young declined to voluntarily waive extradition proceedings to Ventura County.  The Ventura County DA’s Office applied for a Governor’s Warrant which was approved and sent to the Alabama Governor’s Office.  The extradition was approved through the Jefferson County Superior Court, and Young’s extradition was ordered.
 
Members of the Ventura County Cold Case Task Force proceeded to Alabama and have returned to Ventura County, November 18, 2012, with Young in custody.  He has been booked late last night into Ventura County Main Jail with no bail.  Young’s first court appearance in Ventura County is scheduled at 9:00 AM, Monday, November 19, 2012, in Division 12 of the Ventura County Superior Court.

DETAILS:

Oxnard Police Department personnel are currently conducting traffic control on the roadways surrounding a sink hole at Rose Avenue and Raiders Way.  The sink hole was reported by passing motorists this morning at approximately 1:45 A.M.

The northbound and southbound lanes of Rose Avenue are closed between Channel Island Boulevard and Gary Drive.  Raiders Way is also closed between Dallas Drive and Rose Avenue.  

Motorists wishing to travel north and south are encouraged to use Rice Avenue or Saviers Road.  Motorists wishing to travel east and west are required to use Channel Islands Boulevard or Bard Road.            

Personnel from the City of Oxnard’s Street Department are also on scene repairing the roadway.  At this time, it is not known when the roadway will be re-opened.

DETAILS:

At 0038 hours, an Oxnard Police Department patrol officer went to stop a vehicle in the area of Hemlock Street and Ukiah Street for a traffic violation. The driver did not yield. Officers pursued the vehicle primarily in the area of Channel Islands Boulevard and Saviers Road. Speeds ranged from 30 to 55 MPH. At 0056 hours, the vehicle crashed into a light pole after having driven into a yard on Redwood Street near “C” Street.

As the suspect attempted to flee on foot, an Oxnard Police K9 apprehended the driver, later identified as Francisco Javier Dominguez, 25 years. Officers learned Dominguez had a felony parole violation warrant and admitted to having been “on the run.”

Dominguez was treated for minor wounds sustained when apprehended by the K9. Dominguez was booked in the Ventura County Jail for the felony warrant and failing to yield to officers.
