DETAILS: On January 14, 2015, at approximately 5:30 a.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department were dispatched to a call of shots fired in the 5200 block of Perkins Road. Upon arrival, officers located a male shooting victim in a parked vehicle. Medical personnel attended to the victim who ultimately died as a result of his injuries.
Preliminary investigation indicates this was not gang related or an act of random violence. The Oxnard Police Department is currently working with the Coroner’s Office in order to positively identify the male victim. The identity of the deceased person as well as the cause and manner of death will be released by the Ventura County Coroner’s Office. As of this release, no suspect(s)have been identified and the motive remains unknown.
