DETAILS:
On April 23, 2014, at about 12:30 A.M., officers from the Oxnard Police Department and EMS personnel responded to the 1800 block of MacArthur Place in reference to an injury traffic collision involving a motorcyclist.
Responding officers conducted the preliminary investigation and it was determined that the motorcycle, driven by Jermaine Parrilla, was traveling eastbound on MacArthur Place at a high rate of speed. For an unknown reason, Parrilla lost control of the motorcycle and was ejected from it. Parrilla and the motorcycle traveled over 200 feet before coming to rest near a parked vehicle. As a result of the collision, Parrilla suffered significant head trauma as he was not wearing a motorcycle helmet.
Parrilla was transported from the scene to the Ventura County Medical Center where he has undergone surgery. He is currently listed in critical condition.
It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in this collision.
