DETAILS:
On June 5th, at 4:45 P.M., an Oxnard Police officer conducted an investigative traffic stop on a vehicle on Redwood St. at Jackson St. The vehicle pulled over and the officer contacted the driver of the vehicle. During the stop, the passenger exited the vehicle and attempted to flee.
The officer ordered the subject, later identified as Dangelly Rivera a 24 year old Oxnard resident, to stay at the scene. Rivera fled on foot and an Electronic Control Device (ECD) was used to take the suspect into custody. The suspect suffered an injury from falling to the ground during the arrest and he was transported to St. John’s hospital for medical treatment.
Rivera had outstanding felony warrants for a stolen vehicle violation, possession of stolen property, and a violation of probation. Rivera is currently on probation for threatening a witness and a prior resisting arrest.
