Three members of an Oxnard family received significant injuries in a traffic collision at the intersection of Fifth St. and Harbor Blvd. this evening.
At 7:03 p.m., Oxnard police and fire responded to an injury collision at the noted location. The Toyota Prius, driven by a 52-year-old Oxnard resident, was northbound on Harbor Blvd. The Dodge Charger, driven by a 23-year-old Oxnard man, was southbound on Harbor Blvd. and made an eastbound turn in front of the Prius.
The driver of the Charger was not injured in the crash, but the driver of the Prius and his two daughters, ages 9 and 11, sustained significant injuries as a result of the head-on crash and were transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.
An investigation as to the cause of the collision is continuing.
