(Oxnard, CA) On May 16, 2012 at about 3:30 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit attempted to contact Donald Reyes regarding an outstanding warrant. Reyes led officers on a three minute vehicle pursuit through Oxnard and Port Hueneme, reaching speeds of 70 MPH and violating several traffic laws.
Reyes was ultimately apprehended in the area of Channel Islands Boulevard and Ventura Road, with the assistance of a Port Hueneme PD K-9 officer. Reyes was transported and treated at St. John’s Regional Medical Center for a minor complaint of pain.
Reyes was on the post release offender (PRO) program. The PRO Program releases non-violent, non-sexual and non-serious offenders from prison under Assembly Bill 109.
Reyes is currently in custody at the Ventura County Jail for numerous charges including felony evading of a police officer.
