DETAILS:
On 3-30-14, at 1509 hours, officers responded to a call of a stabbing victim and possible traffic collision in the 4500 Block of Reeder Avenue. When officers arrived, they contacted the victim, a 27-year old male and Oxnard resident. The victim had been involved in a minor traffic collision with a parked vehicle and was suffering from a single stab wound to the head. The victim was transported to VCMC where he underwent surgery. He is listed in critical, but stable condition.
From a witness at the scene, officers were able to obtain a suspect description. Officers responding to the scene located the suspect nearby. He was identified as 32-year old Oxnard resident, Miguel Jimenez. Jimenez was arrested without incident. Officers determined that a fight between the suspect and victim had occurred in the parking lot near the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road and Beaumont Avenue. After the victim was stabbed, he entered his vehicle and began to drive away from the area. He eventually lost consciousness and collided with a parked unoccupied vehicle.
