DETAILS:
On October 12, 2011 at about 9:00 p.m., Oxnard Police officers responded to the 4500 block Terrace Avenue after hearing several gunshots in the immediate area. While checking the area, the officers located 19-year-old Sergio Arroyo who had been shot in the torso and had several stab wounds to his back. The victim was transported to VCMC where he underwent extensive surgery. Unfortunately the victim did not survive his injuries.
Today October 12, 2012, at 9:50 a.m. Detectives and Officers of the Oxnard Police Department served search warrants and contacted the alleged suspect in the city of Santa Maria. He was placed under arrest for this homicide without incident. He was booked into Ventura County Main Jail for Murder, the bail amount has not been set as of yet.
The investigation into additional persons involved in this event and activities after the homicide is continuing.
The City of Oxnard offers a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of suspect(s) in homicide cases.
