DETAILS:
On 5-31-15, at 0739 hours, an Oxnard Police officer saw a stolen vehicle being driven southbound on Rose Avenue near Camino Del Sol. When the officer attempted to stop the vehicle the vehicle failed to yield. The officer went in a short pursuit of the vehicle.
The pursuit was terminated after approximately two minutes. The driver of the stolen vehicle continued and lost control of the vehicle at 2nd Street and Hayes Avenue where it crashed into a wall. The suspect fled on foot and was tackled by officers.
Gilberto Aldana, 22-year old Oxnard resident, sustained minor injuries and was treated at local hospital prior to being booked into the Ventura County Main Jail. Aldana was charged with stolen vehicle (felony) and evading (misdemeanor). Aldana is currently on probation for stolen vehicle.
