DETAILS:
On April 9, 2016, at approximately 7:52 PM, an Oxnard Police Officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a Honda Civic in the area of San Juan Ave. and Columbia Dr. The driver, identified as 24 year old Oxnard resident Lauren Evans, failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit lasted approximately two minutes and concluded when Evans abandoned the stolen vehicle in the middle of the intersection at Channel Islands Blvd. and Fournier St.
Evans attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended by the pursuing officer. Evans was charged with being in possession of a stolen vehicle, felony evading, resisting arrest, and was booked at the Ventura County Jail. Evans is currently on probation for a prior stolen vehicle arrest.
