On September 28, 2016, at about 0930 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to the Dollar Tree Store located in the 800 block of N. Ventura Road, reference a robbery of the store that had occurred with the suspect armed with a hammer. Officers searched the area and located a possible suspect who fled on foot upon contact. A perimeter was set and an extensive yard to search, utilizing the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department helicopter and Oxnard Police Department K-9 Unit, was conducted. After searching the neighborhood for approximately 3 hours, the suspect, Steven Perez, was found hiding inside the garage of a residence in the 1600 block of Oneida Place.
Steven Perez was subsequently arrested for Robbery; as well as, two outstanding warrants for his arrest.
