DETAILS:
On May 28, 2017, at about 6:07 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department were patrolling the area of the 5400 block of Cypress Road. The officers saw Rigoverto Zamora disassembling a 1996 Honda Civic in the rear parking area of an apartment complex. A records check indicated that the vehicle had been reported stolen in the city of Van Nuys on the previous day. Zamora was then taken into custody without incident for possession of the stolen vehicle.
A records check revealed that Zamora was arrested in February for burglary and possession of burglary tools but is currently out on bail pending trail. He is currently on Ventura County probation for narcotics violations and State Parole for several previous burglary arrests. Zamora was ultimately charged for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property, and being in violation of parole. He was transported and booked into the Ventura County Jail for the violations.
Anyone with further information regarding this incident or other stolen vehicles is encouraged to contact the Oxnard Police Department at (805) 385-7600, or you can remain anonymous by calling the Ventura County Crime Stoppers at (805) 222-8477.
