On October 20, 2017, at approximately 7:00 am, Investigators from the Oxnard Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) in conjunction with the Oxnard Police Department’s Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) served a search warrant at a residence located in the 3000 block Merced Pl, City of Oxnard. During the service of the search warrant investigators located one shotgun, two home-made zip guns, and over 100 rounds of ammunition. The suspect, Henry Magana, was not at home at the time the warrant was served. Update: VCU investigators arrested Magana today. Magana was booked into county jail and charged with assault with a deadly weapon (firearm).
The search warrant was in response to the recent violence throughout the city. The Oxnard Police Department, Violent Crimes Unit, and the Special Enforcement unit are committed to reducing gang crimes and gun violence in the City of Oxnard through strict enforcement of laws specifically targeting known and active gang members residing in the city.
