Major Crimes Detectives diligently and thoroughly investigated the murder of Pizano to identify the person or persons responsible for his death. During the investigation, Major Crimes Detectives interviewed numerous people who provided detectives with valuable information. Detectives also located and collected important items of evidence. As the homicide investigation progressed, detectives were able to positively identify 25-year old Omar Alan Tapia, an Oxnard resident, as the person responsible for the death of Jesus Pizano.
