DETAILS:
On May 28, 2018, at approximately 3:15 a.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department attempted to contact a suspicious subject in the area of Robert Ave and Oxnard Blvd in the City of Oxnard. The subject fled on foot and was captured after a foot chase. The subject was identified as 21 year old Oxnard resident Ismael Romero. Romero was found to be in possession of live ammunition. K9 Officer Moses Martinez and K9 “Leo” responded and assisted with searching the area for property discarded by Romero during the foot chase. “Leo” located a loaded handgun in the area. Officers were able to tie the discarded handgun to Romero. Romero was arrested for various felony firearms charges.
