On Wednesday, October 2, 2019, at approximately 12:11 a.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to an injury traffic collision involving a bicyclist at the intersection of ‘C’ Street and Rincon Way. Officers arrived and located a 46-year-old male suffering from serious injuries. The individual was immediately transported by ambulance to Ventura County Medical Center and is listed in “critical” condition.
Based upon the preliminary investigation, officers determined that a vehicle turning onto Rincon Way from ‘C’ Street struck the victim at the intersection. The victim was pinned underneath the car. The driver of the vehicle continued traveling westbound on Rincon Way, dragging the victim approximately 100 feet before he became dislodged. The vehicle fled the scene. Officers believe the suspect vehicle is possibly a Honda Accord or similar style sedan.
