On May 27, 2024, at approximately 10:00 p.m., the Oxnard Police Department communications center received a call of a shooting victim in the 1600 block of South Victoria Avenue. Oxnard Police Officers responded to the area and located a 21-year-old male Oxnard resident suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to an area hospital where he was listed in stable condition. Officers located evidence of the shooting at the scene.
Witnesses of the shooting stated the suspects were seen fleeing in a black sedan. Officers stopped a vehicle matching the description in the area of Channel Islands Blvd and Ventura Rd. The vehicle had been struck by gunfire and was searched for evidence. Two firearms were located in the vehicle and the three occupants were arrested for firearm possession.
Investigators from the Oxnard Police Department Violent Crimes Unit assumed responsibility for the investigation. The investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time.
