On March 1, 2022, at approximately 2:33 p.m., Oxnard Police Officers and EMS personnel responded to a call of a hit and run traffic collision involving a pedestrian, which occurred on Fifth Street at K Street. Officers arrived and located a 22-year-old female suffering from serious injuries. The victim was immediately transported by ambulance to the Ventura County Medical Center, where she is currently listed in critical condition.
Oxnard Police Department Traffic Officers responded to assist with the investigation. Based on the preliminary investigation, it was determined that the pedestrian was walking northbound in the crosswalk of K Street, crossing Fifth Street when she was struck by an unidentified black sedan, which was traveling westbound on Fifth Street. After the collision, the driver fled in the vehicle westbound on Fifth Street towards Ventura Road.
