SUBJECT: Prohibited Person / Documented Criminal Street Gang Member Arrested for Firearm Possession
SUSPECTS: Javier Hernandez, 19-year-old Oxnard resident

On May 5th, 2022, at approximately 6:40 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Special Enforcement Unit (Gang Unit) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1100 blk. of Hull Pl. Officers contacted the driver who was identified as Javier Hernandez. Officers noticed open alcoholic beverage containers in the vehicle and removed the occupants to conduct a search. During the search, officers located a loaded semi-automatic handgun that was concealed in a bandana. Javier was arrested for several felony firearms violations. Officers later learned that Javier is on probation for committing a felony assault likely to produce great bodily injury, out of Santa Barbara County. Javier is also a documented criminal street gang member out of Santa Barbara County.
