SUBJECT: Documented Criminal Street Gang Member Arrested for Firearm Possession
SUSPECTS: Juan Ayala, 25-year-old Oxnard resident

On May 27th, 2022, at approximately 9:00 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Special Enforcement Unit (Gang Unit) conducted a foot patrol in response to increased gang activity in the east alley of the 2600 blk. of El Dorado Ave. During the foot patrol the officers encountered several Oxnard criminal street gang members drinking alcoholic beverages in the alley. One of the subjects, identified as Juan Ayala, fled from the officers but was apprehended. Ayala was observed discarding a handgun in front of one of the apartment complexes. Ayala was arrested for possessing a loaded, concealed firearm.
