(Oxnard, CA) On April 2, 2012 at about 3:45 p.m. Oxnard PD officers were on patrol in the area of Greenbrook Drive and O’Neil Place when they heard several gun shots. Officers observed a white, 1994 Toyota Celica traveling at a high rate of speed which failed to stop for a stop sign. Officers initiated an enforcement stop, but the driver failed to yield. Officers chased the car for about two minutes until the car crashed in the north alley of 1800 Napoleon Avenue.
All four occupants fled from the Celica. A house-to-house search was conducted. All occupants were later located and arrested. The suspects are Jorge Cervantes,18; Librado Navarrete, 25; Govanni Vega, 20; and Jonathan Gallegos, 21. All are Oxnard residents. Cervantes was arrested for evading, hit and run and trespassing. The front-seat passenger was identified as Navarrete. He was arrested for a felony warrant. Vega and Gallegos were arrested for delaying the duties of a police officer.
No weapons were found and no shooting victims were located.
