DETAILS:
At 0038 hours, an Oxnard Police Department patrol officer went to stop a vehicle in the area of Hemlock Street and Ukiah Street for a traffic violation. The driver did not yield. Officers pursued the vehicle primarily in the area of Channel Islands Boulevard and Saviers Road. Speeds ranged from 30 to 55 MPH. At 0056 hours, the vehicle crashed into a light pole after having driven into a yard on Redwood Street near “C” Street.
As the suspect attempted to flee on foot, an Oxnard Police K9 apprehended the driver, later identified as Francisco Javier Dominguez, 25 years. Officers learned Dominguez had a felony parole violation warrant and admitted to having been “on the run.”
Dominguez was treated for minor wounds sustained when apprehended by the K9. Dominguez was booked in the Ventura County Jail for the felony warrant and failing to yield to officers.
