On 09-24-12 at approximately 1715 hours Officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to a call of a burglary in progress in the 1600 block of Evangeline Place. The suspect was described as a black male who was seen running through the neighborhood. As officers arrived in the area, there were reports from citizens that a subject matching that description was attempting entry into a second residence in the area. The suspect confronted the resident and took the phone away, preventing the resident from calling the police. The suspect fled the residence as officers were searching the area. Officers chased the suspect through several backyards in the neighborhood. Officers apprehended suspect Mack in the 1600 block of Patricia Street.
During the investigation it was found that the suspect, who was identified as Christopher Mack, had made entry into two residences while evading police. During the course of those entries Mack threatened, battered and prevented witnesses from calling police. Mack was arrested and booked into the Ventura County Jail on several charges including witness intimidation, criminal threats, burglary and also a previous criminal threats charge for which he was wanted out of the City Of Oxnard.
