On 05/15/14 at approximately 0221 hours, Oxnard police officers responded to the area of Roderick Avenue and Carty Drive in Oxnard reference an auto burglary in progress.
Officers arrived and located the three suspects in the area, who matched the description provided by a witness. It was learned the suspects were walking on Roderick Avenue checking for vehicles with unlocked doors. The suspects found several vehicle doors unlocked and began removing property from one of them, just prior to the Police arriving.
The Oxnard Police Department encourages residents to be partners in public safety as part of the Operation Safer and Stronger initiative. This is an excellent example of a witness who saw suspicious activity, called the police, and provided the appropriate information.
