On Saturday, February 25, 2012 at about 5:17 a.m., Oxnard PD received information from a concerned citizen that a suspicious subject was trying to gain entry into a tented residence in the 2000 block of South “K” Street. This particular residence was tented for fumigation purposes.
Oxnard police officers responded and located Javier Romo, 23, in the backyard of the residence. During the investigation it was discovered that the tent had been cut to allow access into the residence. Romo was in possession of burglary tools and narcotics paraphernalia and was subsequently arrested.
The specific details provided by the caller assisted police in making this arrest. This is a good reminder for any concerned citizen to call 9-1-1 to report suspicious activity.
