UPDATE
Detectives developed information which led to Barstow, CA. As a result, at about 2:30 p.m. today, a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputy encountered Abdalla near his vehicle north east of Barstow. Abdalla was taken into custody without incident and will be returned to Oxnard to face charges.
The victim remains hospitalized.

At 2:45 a.m. Oxnard PD officers were dispatched to an apartment in the 100 block of Fashion Park Place in Oxnard. On arrival, they found a 28-year-old female with multiple stab wounds. She was transported to the hospital where she is in critical condition. The investigation revealed that the assailant was her husband, Abdalla Younan Abdalla, 32, of Oxnard. The suspect apparently fled in his 2002 Black Hyundai Santa Fe, California license plate 5ATB969. It is believed that the suspect fled to Los Angeles County. Officers are actively searching for this vehicle and the suspect.
A photograph of the suspect can be found on page two of this news release. Abdalla is an Egyptian male, 5’4” 160 lbs with black hair and brown eyes. He wears glasses and had a moustache and a couple of day’s growth of a beard at the time of the attack. Abdalla also has a tattoo of Arabic writing on his upper right arm.
