DETAILS:
On November 19, 2015 at approximately 9:48 p.m. officers were dispatched subjects brandishing a firearm from a vehicle in the area of Sierra Way and Olds Road. When officers arrived in the area, they located a vehicle and four occupants that matched the description of the subjects brandishing a firearm. Officers conducted a vehicle stop and contacted the occupants. In plain view, officers saw a homemade “zip gun” and compact handgun. All four occupants were taken into custody and transported to the Oxnard Police Department.
Juan Alvarez and a 17 year old juvenile, who are both Oxnard residents, were charged with several weapons violations. Alvarez was transported and booked into the Ventura County Jail and the 17 year old juvenile was transported and housed at Ventura County Juvenile Hall. The other two occupants were interviewed and released pending further investigation.
