DETAILS:
On the above date and time Officers from the Oxnard Police Department located a stolen vehicle being driven by the above suspect in the city of Oxnard. Officers attempted to stop the stolen vehicle and a vehicle pursuit ensued.
The pursuit began in the area of Statham Ave. and Oxnard Blvd. Officers pursued the suspect north through the city, and southbound on the 101 Freeway. The suspect lost control of the stolen vehicle and collided with a second vehicle and the center median of the freeway, causing the suspect vehicle to overturn. After the suspect vehicle came to a stop, the suspect exited the stolen vehicle and fled northbound on foot across the northbound lanes of the 101 Freeway and heavy northbound vehicle traffic. Officers chased the suspect and took her into custody without further incident after a short foot chase. The California Highway Patrol responded to the accident scene and assisted with the collision investigation.
The suspect was arrested for vehicle theft, felony evading, felony hit and run, misdemeanor hit and run, and was found to be under the influence of cocaine and on parole. The suspect and the driver of the vehicle that the suspect collided with on the 101 freeway were transported to St. Johns hospital with minor injuries from the traffic collision. The suspect was booked into county jail for the above charges.
