DETAILS:
On November 5, 2014, at about 11:12 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department and EMS personnel responded to Victoria Avenue and Gonzales Road in reference to an injury traffic collision involving a vehicle and a motorcyclist.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Victoria Avenue approaching Gonzales Road. The Blue Chevrolet Pick-up was also traveling southbound on Victoria Avenue and was stopped for the red light at Gonzales Road. As the blue Chevrolet pick-up was proceeding on the green light, the motorcyclist struck the rear of the pick-up and was ejected from the motorcycle. According to witnesses, prior to the collision, the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed.
The Motorcyclist was transported from the scene to the Ventura County Medical Center where he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit and is currently listed in stable/critical condition.
It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in this collision. The investigation is continuing.
