On January 24, 1990, Juan Manuel Gomez of Oxnard, was the victim of a shooting that occurred in the 100 Block of South Rose Avenue. Mr. Gomez was shot once in the back and sustained a significant, life altering injury as a result. No suspects were ever arrested as a result of this incident.
On October 13, 2015, Mr. Gomez passed away in his home. The Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy examination on October 14, 2015 as part of the ongoing investigation. At the end of this procedure, Mr. Gomez’s death was tentatively ruled a homicide as a result of the complications from the gunshot wound he sustained on January 24, 1990.
