DETAILS:

On 6-12-10 at approximately 0047 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department were dispatched to a call of vehicles disturbing and a possible fight in the 2300 block of Natalie Place. When officers arrived they saw a male subject who appeared to be unconscious being drug back into a residence by several subjects. Officers entered the residence to check on the subject and located the victim (Alejandro Aguilar) unconscious in a bedroom. Aguilar was the victim of a physical assault. Aguilar was transported to St. John’s Hospital where he is currently in stable condition.

An investigation is continuing.

DETAILS:

On 7-10-2010 at approximately 0600 hours, Oxnard Police Officers responded to a robbery that occurred in the area of Edgewood and M St. in the city of Oxnard. The victim told the officers that he was parked and seated in his vehicle with some friends, when the two suspects approached and demanded money from the victim. One of the suspects later identified as suspect Lopez was armed with a knife. The victim handed over his money, and the suspects fled the area.

While officers were checking the area, they stopped a car for a vehicle code violation that contained four subjects. Two of the subjects in the vehicle matched the description of the suspects in the robbery, so an in-field line up was conducted. The two suspects were identified as the suspects who committed the robbery and were subsequently arrested. A loaded handgun was located in the vehicle next to Suspect Morales, who was subsequently charged with gun possession and possession of an unregistered firearm. Both suspects associate with a known Oxnard gang.

An investigation is continuing. The victim and witnesses names are not being released at this time due to a concern of gang retaliation.

DETAILS:

On Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at about 1255 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department along with EMS personnel responded to an injury traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a car on Gonzales Road west of Oxnard Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers found that a black, Honda Accord, driven by Angeles, 83 years old of Camarillo had struck a pedestrian (Vargas, 32 years old of Oxnard).

Pedestrian Vargas sustained head injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to Ventura County Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition. Angeles was not directly injured as a result of the collision but was transported as a precaution.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the Honda, driven by Angeles, was traveling eastbound on Gonzales Road towards Oxnard Boulevard. Several witnesses indicated that Pedestrian Vargas had run out into traffic on Gonzales Road west of Oxnard Boulevard between several vehicles and was struck by the Honda.

At this time it is unknown if alcohol or drugs are a factor in this collision. Additional analysis results are pending.

On 8-16-2010 at approximately 0730 hours, Oxnard Police Officers responded to a call of a subject down in the alley of 560 S. A St., in the City of Oxnard. Officers and paramedics arrived and found the victim suffering from critical injuries. The victim was transported to Ventura County Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition. Investigators are attempting to locate friends or family for the victim, with negative results. If anyone knows the victim or his family, they are urged to contact Detective Steve Funk immediately.

On 09-13-10 at approximately 1330 hours, officers responded to a vehicle burglary in progress at the intersection of First Street and Rose Avenue.

The suspect, Julio Cesar Garcia, was observed inside of the vehicle by arriving officers and taken into custody. Property taken from the vehicle was recovered.

Garcia, when arrested, was found in possession of drug paraphernalia. Garcia was booked for burglary and for possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Oxnard Police Department wants to remind residents to secure their vehicles and not leave valuables in plain view. Residents are also urged to record vital information from their valuables, such as serial numbers and model numbers.

On 11-2-10 officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to two robberies at local businesses that occurred approximately 10 minutes apart. The first occurred at the Payless Shoe Source located at 2051 N. Rose Avenue. One suspect approached the clerk, simulated a weapon, and demanded cash. The other suspect was seen in the area. The victim handed the suspects cash and they fled on foot.

The second robbery occurred approximately 10 minutes later at the Thrifty Gas Station located at 1501 W. Gonzales Road. A single suspect entered the business, approached the clerk, and demanded cash from the register. The victim handed the suspect cash and then fled in an older model reddish colored SUV.

Both robberies have similar suspect descriptions, however it is unknown if they are related at this time. The Oxnard Police Department wants to advise homeowners and contractors that there has been an increase in vacant residential burglaries throughout the city of Oxnard. In the last month, there have been ten vacant homes burglarized. Suspects are taking appliances, tools, and in some instances removing installed plumbing pipes from the walls. If you own or manage a property that is currently vacant, take measures to secure tools, and other valuables, if possible remove valuables.

We recommend documenting valuables by recording serial numbers, mark and/or engrave your property and take photographs.

Early Saturday evening, Oxnard police responded to a call of a stabbing just occurred in the alley of the 100 block of N. Grant Ave. The victim told police he was approached by three men while walking in the alley. The suspects asked the victim if he had any money. When the victim answered “no,” the suspects began rifling through the victim’s pockets. A friend of the victim (listed as Victim #2) came to his aid. One suspect (listed above as Suspect #1) stabbed the second victim in the torso. The trio of suspects fled on foot from the alley.

The stabbing victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for his injury.

On 12-31-10 at approximately 1912 hours, Oxnard Police Officers were dispatched to a stabbing victim in the 600 block of Hill Street. Officers arrived and contacted a subject who suffered multiple stab wounds to his upper torso. The victim was unconscious and not talking when the officers arrived. The victim was treated by medical personnel at the scene and transported to the Ventura County Medical Center where he underwent emergency surgery. The victim was stabilized and is recovering. On 1-3-11 at approximately 0140 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department were dispatched to a robbery at the Burger King Restaurant located at 2001 N. Oxnard Boulevard. Officers arrived and contacted the victims who had been robbed by two subjects. One of the victims fled the restaurant during the robbery to call the police.

The suspects entered the business in possession of weapons. The suspects demanded money from the victim. The victim handed the money from the registers to the suspects and they fled the business on foot.
