On 3/13/14 at 3:50 a.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department were dispatched to the 3000 block of Circle Drive reference a suspicious vehicle. The witness advised that a white Chevrolet Blazer was circling the area and then parked. The witness was able to provide a license plate number as well as a detailed description of the vehicle. Responding officers located the suspect vehicle and the registered owner, Cirilo Flores, Valentin standing beside it.
Upon further investigation, officers located a victim vehicle in the area with a smashed rear window and both rear doors open. The owner of the victim vehicle was located and interviewed. It was determined that items from the victim vehicle were inside of Valentin’s vehicle. Valentin was arrested for possession of stolen property and possession of methamphetamine.
The Oxnard Police Department encourages residents to be partners in public safety as part of the Operation Safer and Stronger initiative. This is an excellent example of a neighbor who saw suspicious activity, called the police, and provided the appropriate information.
