DETAILS:
On January 31, 2014, at about 1755 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to St. John’s Regional Medical Center reference a gunshot victim. Officers contacted the victim, Armando Rivera, 25 years old of Oxnard, who told them that he, and two friends, were walking in the 300 block of West Hueneme Road when they were confronted by two subjects. After a short verbal exchange, shots were fired from a small caliber handgun and the victim received a single, non-life threatening gunshot wound. The victim was driven to St. John’s Regional Medical Center by an unknown person.
The Oxnard Police Department received information that a black Nissan Maxima or similar type vehicle may have been involved in the incident.
An investigation is continuing.
