DETAILS: SUMMER/LABOR DAY AVOID DUI CAMPAIGN – FINAL REPORT
The 2014 Summer/Labor Day Holiday DUI Mobilization crackdown on impaired drivers has ended and resulted in a significant number of DUI arrests. The arrests were made during sobriety checkpoints, special DUI saturation patrols and routine patrols on Ventura County roadways over the past 18 days.
From 12:01 a.m., Friday, August 15th, through midnight, Monday, September 1, 2014, officers representing 14 Ventura County law enforcement agencies have arrested 169 individuals for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. In 2013, there were 205 DUI arrests during the same time period. Fortunately, there were no DUI deaths reported.
Law enforcement officials will be conducting more Avoid the 14 anti-DUI efforts throughout Ventura County during Halloween and Thanksgiving weekends before planning for the December winter campaign period. Police, Sheriff and the CHP encourage all motorists to help make your community safer: Report Drunk Drivers – Call 911! anytime you encounter a dangerous impaired driver.
