DETAILS:
On 4/17/11, at about 2356 hours, Officers were dispatched to a call of a shooting victim in the 400 block of Occidental Drive. Upon arrival, officers learned the victim had been transported to St. John’s Regional Medical Center by private party. Officers made contact with the victim who was found to have a minor head injury. The injury was not the result of a gunshot wound but was a laceration sustained during a physical altercation after a firearm had been discharged. Several people who were contacted in the 400 block of Occidental Drive were later arrested on unrelated narcotics violations. Walter Coleman, a 27 year old Oxnard resident was later arrested on assault and weapons violations for his role in the incident.
An investigation is continuing.
