On September 23, 2016, at about 1150 hours, officers from the Oxnard Police Department Neighborhood Policing Team conducted a probation search in the 2100 block of Zocolo Street, in response to a recent increase of criminal activity reported in the area. Officers contacted the resident, Mychal White, who is on county probation for narcotics related offenses.
During a search of the residence, officers located a “sawed-off” 12 gauge shotgun; as well as, additional 12 gauge shotgun ammunition. It was determined that White is a previously convicted felon who is prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition.
Mychal White was ultimately arrested for several firearms related violations, without incident.
