DETAILS:
On 7/31/10 at approximately 0205 hours officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of south “J” Street regarding a robbery that had just occurred. When officers arrived they contacted the victim who stated that he was sitting in his vehicle in the area of Seventh Street and Oxnard Blvd. A male and two females entered the victim’s vehicle and told him to drive. While the victim was with the subjects they brandished knives, robbed him of his money, and took additional property belonging to the victim. The subjects drove the victim around and then dropped the victim off in the 2200 block of south “J” Street.
A short time later Officers located the victim’s vehicle in the 200 block of Chester. The driver of the vehicle, Esteban Cortez (1/4/73), was taken into custody without incident. Cortez was booked at the Ventura County Jail for various felony charges including robbery, kidnapping and carjacking.
