DETAILS: (Oxnard, Calif)– On December 7, 2016, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the Oxnard Police Department responded to the 2000 block of Almanor Drive reference a shooting that had just occurred. The reporting party identified himself as the shooter. Officers located the reporting party who was standing by the residence when officers and medical personnel arrived on scene. The reporting party is currently being detained and questioned by police.
A shooting victim was located at the location and was pronounced deceased at the scene. A second shooting victim was located a short time later at St. Johns Hospital suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. This victim was subsequently transported to the Ventura County Medical Center and is listed in critical condition.
The Oxnard Police Department Major Crimes Unit and Violent Crimes Unit are on scene and investigating this matter in conjunction with the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office.
