On October 16, 2016, at 7:20 p.m., the Oxnard Police Department responded to a call of a shooting victim in the 4400 block of Phoenix Dr. When officers arrived at the location they were told by witnesses that a single male victim had left the scene to seek medical assistance. Officers located the victim at the St. John’s Hospital Emergency Room. The victim, a 25 year old male Oxnard resident, suffered a minor gunshot wound.
At this point in the investigation, it appears that two males drove by the location on Phoenix Dr. in a dark colored sedan. As the suspects drove by, several shots were fired and the victim was struck. The vehicle was last seen driving southbound away from the area. No further details are known about the suspects or the vehicle.
