On July 25, 2017, at approximately 1:25 A.M., Oxnard police officers contacted two subjects who were occupants in a parked vehicle to the rear of 5220 Jefferson Square. Officers contacted Robert De La Cerda, who was a passenger in the vehicle. De La Cerda was found to be on parole and probation and had search terms.
During a search of the vehicle, a loaded .22 caliber rifle was found where De La Cerda was seated. The rifle’s barrel had been cut down to less than sixteen inches. De La Cerda was arrested for being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, as well as several other weapons related charges.
