Two teen girls were seriously injured after they were thrown from the trunk of a car after a crash.
The two girls were in the trunk of a silver Dodge Charger driven by a 17-year-old boy when the Charger that was travelling westbound on Costa De Oro was hit broadside by a Nissan Sentra going southbound on Harbor Boulevard and spun out, about 5:45 p.m. Saturday.
The girls were riding in the trunk because the driver had two other passengers and a large subwoofer in the car.
The two girls and a third passenger were taken to hospitals with severe injuries. The other passenger and the driver suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the Sentra was not injured.
The investigation is continuing and we are asking anyone who may have seen the crash to contact the traffic investigator at (805) 385-7749.
