On October 18, 2017, the Oxnard Police Department Violent Crimes Unit and Special Enforcement Unit served a two location search warrant. One of the two locations was in the 700 block Teakwood Dr. During the search of the residence detectives located two firearms associated with the suspect. The suspect was identified as Cesar Reyes, 29 years, Oxnard Resident. Reyes is a known gang member and prohibited from owning firearms and ammunition. Reyes was arrested for various firearms and ammunition charges.
The search warrants were in response to the recent violence throughout the city. The Oxnard Police Department, Violent Crimes Unit, and the Special Enforcement unit are committed to reducing gang crimes and gun violence in the City of Oxnard through strict enforcement of laws specifically targeting known and active gang members residing in the city. Citizens are reminded to contact the Oxnard Police Department when they observe suspicious activity or witness a crime.
