DETAILS:
On 4/4/2018, at approximately 8:55 p.m., an Oxnard Police Department Officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a silver Mercedes C30, in the 2300 block of Maulhardt Ave. The vehicle failed to yield and a pursuit was initiated. The Mercedes traveled to the Nyeland Acres neighborhood where several passengers exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The vehicle continued north on Santa Clara Avenue where officers were able to deploy a spike strip, which deflated the tires. The vehicle continued at a slow speed before coming to a stop near Santa Clara Ave and Wright Road. The driver, Victor Lopez, was taken into custody.
The vehicle was determined to be stolen out of Santa Clara County. During a search of the vehicle, two handguns were located inside. One of the handguns was determined to be stolen. Lopez was arrested for an outstanding felony warrant, possession of a stolen vehicle, several gun offenses, felony evading, and narcotics violations.
