DETAILS:
On December 11, 2019 at about 8:10PM, officers from the Oxnard Police Department were patrolling in the vicinity of the recent homicide, specifically Perkins Road and Clara Street in south Oxnard. The observed group of individuals nearby and one person fled upon seeing the officers. The officers followed this person, and observed him toss an object beneath a vehicle. Officers contacted this individual, a 15 year old male juvenile, and also located a loaded firearm underneath the vehicle. They believed that the juvenile discarded the firearm underneath the vehicle to avoid arrest.
The juvenile was arrested for firearms violations. He was ultimately transported to the Ventura County Juvenile Justice center.
