On January 15, at 4:58 a.m., The Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit, K9 Unit, and detectives from the Ventura County Combined Agency Task Force (VCAT) served a search warrant in the 1600 block of Gina Drive in reference to ongoing narcotics activity. During the execution of the search warrant, Officers contacted thirteen people who are living in the 3 bedroom 1100 square foot residence. The living room area of the residence was converted into 5 sleeping areas and the garage had an additional 3 sleeping areas. The City of Oxnard Code Compliance Division was notified and responded to the residence. After the investigation, the residence was “yellow” tagged and deemed uninhabitable due to the non-permitted modifications to the structure and makeshift bedrooms.
During a search of the residence, detectives located several replica firearms, Heroin, Methamphetamine, and a large sum of US Currency. Abraham Shamitz was arrested for three outstanding misdemeanor warrants. David Richards was arrested for three outstanding misdemeanor warrants and Jeff Norton was arrested for narcotics related charges. The investigation is ongoing.
