SUBJECT: Gang Member / Prohibited Person Arrested for Firearms and Narcotics

On June 11, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Officers from the Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit (gang unit) conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation of a gold Chevy Impala at the intersection of Wooley Road and “F” Street in the City of Oxnard. The driver of the Impala was identified as Miguel Jimenez (39yrs). Jimenez is a known criminal street gang member within the City of Oxnard and is currently on Parole in the state of California. Jimenez is a prohibited person from possessing firearms and is out on bail for previous felony charges.
During a search of Jimenez and his vehicle, Jimenez was found in possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl. A parole search was conducted at Jimenez residence a short time later at the 1100 block of south “J” Street. During the search, a 12-gauge shotgun with a modified pistol grip and a “sawed-off” barrel was located. Jimenez was arrested for possession of controlled substances and multiple firearms charges.
