SUBJECT: Firearm Arrest
LOCATION: Gloria Court / Colonia Road, Oxnard, CA
SUSPECT: Juan Rivera-Lopez, 20-year-old Oxnard resident

On the above date and time, officers from the Oxnard Police Department conducted a traffic stop for vehicle code violations at Gloria Court and Colonia Road in Oxnard. Rivera-Lopez was the driver of the vehicle. He was initially untruthful about his name. Officers learned he had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. During a search of the vehicle, officers located a loaded 9mm handgun on the driver’s floorboard of the vehicle. Rivera-Lopez is prohibited from possessing firearms. Drugs were also located in the vehicle.
Rivera-Lopez was arrested for several firearm-related charges and drug charges. A passenger was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance and giving false information to an officer.
