In recent months, the City of Oxnard has experienced an increase in the thefts of 1990’s Honda Accord and Civic vehicles. The Oxnard Police Department Auto Theft Task Force (OATTF) asks residents to help prevent the thefts of Honda Accord and Civic vehicles and offers the following tips:
- Keep your vehicle locked at all times, even while driving.
- When parked, never leave your keys in the car or leave a spare in your car.
- Never leave your car running and unattended.
- Avoid leaving valuables inside your vehicle where passersby can see them.
- Use an anti-theft device (steering wheel locks, kill-switches).
The Oxnard Police Department Auto Theft Task Force was created to address stolen vehicle issues within the City of Oxnard.
