DETAILS:
On June 21, 2017, at approximately 4:40 p.m., an Oxnard police officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a motorcyclist in the area of Ventura Road and Town Center Drive regarding a speeding violation. However, the motorcyclist, identified as 55-year-old Louie Reyes of Oxnard, failed to yield and continued southbound on Ventura Road. As Reyes approached the intersection of Ventura Road and Bevra Avenue, he sideswiped a vehicle and then collided with a parked pickup truck.
Oxnard Police Department and EMS personnel responded to the collision and rendered aid to Reyes, however, he was transported to the Ventura County Medical Center due to serious injuries. Reyes is currently listed in critical condition.
