Marc Amon
East District Commander Contact Marc AmonCommander Marc Amon started his career with the Oxnard Police Department in 1996. While in the Field Services Bureau, he served as a Patrol Officer, SWAT operator, Field Training Officer, Trauma Support Team member, and Hostage Negotiator. He was promoted to Senior Officer in 2008 and served as the Beat 41 Coordinator before being promoted to Sergeant in 2009.
As a Sergeant, he supervised the Neighborhood Policing Team and Field Training Program before being selected to oversee the Personnel and Training Unit. During his time in Personnel and Training, Commander Amon and his team recruited the largest classes Oxnard PD has ever sent to the police academy. In 2017, he was chosen to lead the new Crime Reduction Unit. Under his leadership, the Crime Reduction Unit contributed to the successful reduction of more than 1500 crimes in Oxnard in less than three years by implementing the Intelligence-Led Policing model.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Management from the Union Institute and University in 2012 and earned his Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice: Intelligence and Crime Analysis Concentration from Saint Joseph’s University in 2019. He is a graduate of the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute (Class #333) and a member of the Filipino-American Law Enforcement Officers (FALEO) Association and the Filipino-American Council of Ventura County.
