On October 27th, 2019 at 5:10 p.m., officers from the Special Enforcement Unit (gang unit) were in the area of Beck Park at the 600 block of west Kamala Street reference recent gang activity. Officers contacted a subject, Eddie Martinez (37), in Beck Park. Martinez is a documented criminal street gang member in the City of Oxnard, and is currently on Parole for assault with a deadly weapon. During a Parole search, Martinez was found in possession of a loaded .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun.
The firearm, found in Martinez’ possession, was also found to be unregistered. Martinez is a prohibited person from possessing a firearm due to a prior felony conviction. Martinez was arrested and charged with numerous firearms violations.
